USO-Metro Transition

About this Location

With roughly 15% of the military transitioning each year and 33% of the military relocating each year, USO-Metro recognizes the need to effectively increase the post-military career employment prospects for service members and support military spouses, who are constantly in transition due to their service member’s frequent change of duty stations. USO-Metro Transitions focuses these efforts in the following concentrations:

  • Employment Readiness
  • Employment Services
  • Family Transition
  • Project Next S.T.E.P.
  • Stronger Spouses
  • Transition Skills Training

Based out of the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir, USO-Metro Transitions offers a variety of workshops, seminars, transition education programs, coffee connections, military spouse networking events, and more.

The USO Pathfinder® Transition Program extends the USO experience to active duty, Reserve, National Guard and military spouses by offering professional development services throughout the duration of the service member or military spouse’s career, as well as when they transition out of the military and settle into their new communities.

Want to be better prepared for future success before transitioning from the military? Are you a military spouse looking for new opportunities?

My mother reminiscing about her love of USO dances during WWII; watching Bob Hope’s USO shows bring joy to so many during the Vietnam war; but in the end, there can be no better way to volunteer than when you can support and engage with service members and their families who are willing to sacrifice everything so that you can be free.
